Chapter 23
This section is very interesting because it talks about how we humans are populating the world raptly. Now is this a bad thing or a good thing. We are also destroying the world natural resources in the ding this but we cannot say no to medical help to other people. The global industries for goods has also grown because so many people are populating the globe. This is good for companies but not good for mother earth just in the use of toilet paper for one human is a lot. The pollution of mother earth is still a big issue air quality in China is a great issue because big companies go to China to pollute it because they do not have any law against the environmental pollution. Unlike the USA which has the EPA and other people who will protect the environment until they can for ever. By looking at one of the maps I can tell that the Industrialized countries leave a bigger footprint of the world than thrid world countries we need to fix this. My dream is of a polluted free world.

Chapter 23
In this chapter my favorite section was on Che Guevara because in third world countries he is a hero. Even though the book refers to him as a failed revolutionary. Ernesto "Che" Guevara is a great symbol especially in Latin America because in those countries people are born into wealthy families. But most people are born in poverty and in these countries it does not matter how hard people work they cannot move up the latter, one education is not available for anyone only the elite have the opportunity to attend universities. Che was against the elite class he wanted an equal world for the Latin Americans, but the USA saw him as a threat. The reason was that Che was a communist based ideology and the USA hates communist. But it would of been great if Che did not believe in communism then a true revolutionary would of been born from him a successful one. In Latin America their needs to be a revolution, but the persons that actually wants to speak out only think about communistic revolutions. They see that the imperialistic nations need to keep them down, so the products can be cheap. Latin America needs a democratic revolution to overthrow all the dictating governments that exist and will keep to exist.
Chapter 22
The African National Congress picture is very interesting it shows the struggle that the people of South Africa. The second picture one on Vietnam kicking out the American army. The documents of the past is interesting because the idea of a secular Islamic religion has been thought about for years and here I thought it was a recent movement. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was one of these people with the innovation of a secular Islam in 1927. This was interesting because countries that are heavenly Islamic are behind in industrialization. If Ataturk would of keep going he would of changed the position of the Islamic countries. Ayatollah Khomeini is a very interesting politician because he made it seem like the country was moving toward a democratic republic. But when he says based on an Islamic rule is when he looses me. If the democratic republic is to work it need to be secular. This is why the European nations do not want Turkey to have the Euro currency. The most interesting document of reading is "From Islam to America" because it shows the oppression that some women suffer under Islamic rule, which were made up by men to dominate women. This oppression is what makes the Islamic religion look bad, but in reality it does not happen everywhere. And people should understand that.

Chapter 22
I really wanted to blog about the articles of the past the Russian side of communism maybe in the next life. I have to recognize Nelson Mandela because he fought for a free South Africa. I wish I had the courage that this man had maybe half of it and I would of gone protesting for occupied Oakland. Gandhi was also an incredible man because he inspired so many movements even the Civil Rights movement in the USA. I like the end of the empire section of the book, but the USA came into power after the Empire of Britain fell. I like how the American Revolution inspired the Mexican Revolution, which in my point of view they still need another one. Mexicans need to over-through the current government and establish a new one.
The empires that ended as well in were Germany and Japan after WWII. I feel that more people should read about Abdul Ghaffar Khan; he was a Muslim pacifist because a lot of people think that all Muslims are terrorist. The map on page 1106 is still accurate today, at least the part of Mexico it is still an authoritarian government. The only country that does not have an authoritarian government is Belize I did not know that. .

Hitlers interesting political view
I found this reading extremely interesting because this publication shows that Hitlers was not a dumb man. He was intelligent and did not just pull facts out of the sky. The other fascinating thing is that Hitler was in prison when he wrote this political view. The first section talked about the superior race this concepts comes from Darwin's theory of natural selection. This is why Hitler states that the strong should hang out with the strong and the weak should parish. For this point of view I blame the British because in the past chapter they had an evolution chart that showed how the white race is the superior race. The interesting part of this memo is that Hitler was not well informed about the Jews I would of recommended a book on religious culture or religious tolerance. The religion of Judaism has its culture, but I wonder why Hitlers has so much anger toward the Jewish religion. He also blames the defeat of Germany in WWI because of the race problem. He calls this superior race Aryans I wonder who was the original creator of this name. I found out today that Hitler was a very educated person and he felt that Germany was being oppressed because they are a superior race. I wonder if this publication made Hitler popular and thus he came into power. I also wonder how did Germany get the money to buy all of its military equipment. The last sentence in this peace shows how even Hitler felt dominated by the rest of the European country because he states, "Never forget that the most sacred right on this earth is a man's right to have earth to till with his own hands, and the most sacred sacrifice the blood that a man sheds for this earth" (Strayer, 1021).

Documents from the past
This reading mad me mad because it shows the realistic belief that Europeans had on other people that if they are not white they are inferior. I read "The Indian Rebellion" this was a sad thing that the British were doing to the Indians. The sadists part is that we as a Western culture are still doing this in millions of sweat shops they have people working for hours with no breaks, low wages, child labor, and no proper ventilation. This is when the US turns the other cheek and refuses to attack those issues. One of the things that the British did to the Indians was impose great taxes to the people who live there. It is like you have lived there for years and all of the sudden someone from another place comes and says you have to pay tax. The British also monopolized the merchant trade in India which was bad because they started to depend on foreign goods. I always wonder what will happen if China pulls out all the merchandize that we in the US buy that will be a day to remember. In this reading it also says that the British have servants, but was there no servants in India before this. The other thing that he mentions is the low wages that government officials had at the time. The British came an really enslaved the Indians, but we are no better or maybe worse.

Colonial Encounters in Asia and Africa
This reading was extremely interesting because at the time England was in power. In our current time the United States of America is in power. In page 882 there is a picture of England as an octopus reaching out to the other countries and coming into control of other countries. In page 883 the British have pictures of all the races. They first have a monkey then two African males, Native Americans, Asian, and finally White males. All the pictures exempt for the the white male look like savages the white male looks intelligent and civilized while the rest look horrible. I also cannot believe that Asia was under European power why did they not fight the Europeans. Even the United States at the time had a territory because of the Spanish American war. Japan was also coming into power they toke over Korea and Taiwan. India was a territory of Great Britain and so was Burma. This is why people from third world countries do not like the Europeans and today the whole world hates Americans. Africa had the worst deal in this chapter because they colonized by all these other countries, but they still have countries today that are starving.

Evidence of Experiencing Industrialization
The first reading was horrible in the way that the business owner treated their fellow man in a way I see that people were enslaved in working as well. The Testimony, by Elizabeth Bentley shows that she had to wake up early everyday and left to go home extremely late. The people during this time did not have a lot of time for sleeping. In a sense when the feudal system went down the rich still kipped their power by having the peasants do the cheap work. In my opinion the world did not progress for the poor it was the same or maybe worst. I cannot imagine little kids working in industrial setting at the age of six she was suppose to be in school during this time not working. I was also proud of Ms. Bentley because she was self-taught and wrote many primary sources of the Industrial Revolution. Another, very interesting document that I read about was that of Karl Marx, which was the father of communism I have to say that I didn't know that this person created communism. I always thought that communism was a thing that the Russians started. The thing that me the most was that he was from a wealthy family. I think that any time that I see communism I immediately say this is a bad idea. The things that were happing during this time period caused somebody to make all these ideas because nobody was protecting them. The one things that I really liked in The communist Manifesto in number ten of his reform that all children should get free education. Now I know why Republicans say free education is a communist believe because Marx states it in his work. The other thing that I also noticed was that Marx had a helper in developing this thing Friedrich Engels was helping him write this. Mr. Engels should receive some created for his master piece not just Marx.

Industrial Revolution
I have to say that I have become a sort of specialist when it comes to the topic of the Industrial Revolution because I have read the chapter three times. When it comes to presentation, I am a very shy person. The Industrial Revolution started in the UK because at the time it was the power of the European country. One of the greatest things of the Industrial Revolution is that in some sense it connects with us because it has the theory that things can be made better everyday. The revolution also had a couple of down sides to it, phrasing it nicely, the working conditions were horrible. They used little kids it get in the middle of machines and get things out of machines that were stuck. It was not a good idea to be a child during this time, especially one from a low income family because they had to provide for their family. furthermore children's death rate was so high because they would work in factories. The industrial revolution started the separation of social classes that is still alive and well today. The book inefficiencies the change but i really do not see the difference it just made easier for people with money to become aristocrats. I found it interesting why in the United States of America communism never took form and it was because unions never got heavily involved in politics. If not they believe the same thing would of happened in the USA as it happened in mother Russia. This was because the working conditions were horrible, I always think about people in the future what are they going to say of our era when they read it in the text book. Because I always ask the question, I cannot believe we made it this far. The industrial revolution started the man era, but it has also started the extinction of mother earth.

Echos of Revolution section
I really enjoyed this chapter because it mostly reflects on the abolish of slavery, which was inspired by the enlightenment period. I think that the abolish of slavery was successful mainly because people had a better understanding of the bible, and understood that slavery was bad. Also, with the new creation of of personal liberty and freedom and equality for every one but not slaves. I was surprise to read that one sailor was still bringing slaves, but the UK did not want them anymore that really filled me with joy. The only sad part of this reading was that the abolitionist movement did not start in the US, which would of been better. The movement was greater in the UK then it spread out to the rest of the world. Latin America abolished slavery in 1850's the first country to abolish slavery was in the UK in 1834. The last country to abolish slavery was Brazil, I do not know how Brazil was the last, I would of thought that Russia was going to be last, but the abolish slavery in 1861 very close to the US. At the same time that this was happening many countries started to unite. The creator or starter of this movement was the United States of America with the American Revolution in 1776 with the birth of our country more people started to unite. For example, in 1870 Italy became its own country and in 1871 Germany became a country as well. This creation of nations, in my perspective, was the greatest thing that Europe can do and in a way over sees the future of the great European empire to come. The final revolution that the Atlantic brought was the greatest the Woman's Movement. It all started in 1848 in Seneca Falls, New York, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton wrote a constitution. Stanton in my opinion has to be the mother of all Woman's rights movement, which in created a other movements in the UK and France. I believe that even today women are not treated well the Woman's Right movement is still underway, and I hope one day it will be accomplished.

Chapter 15 Culture Transformation
I enjoyed this reading because it gave me a better understanding of why not a lot of Aztec ruins are in Mexico. The Europeans came over and destroyed all the native traditions, the other interesting fact is that they use to whip the Native Americans to church. I feel that the book does a god job on the Virgin of Guadalupe, but does not explaining that the virgin was actually a combination of the Aztec goddess Tonantzin, which is the goddess of our mother, revered mother, and so on. I really liked the part on Martin Luther who started the Scientific Revolutions. I have to say that in my list of people that I would like to meet he has to be in the top five because he revolutionized the system. I wish I could feel what Luther must of felt when he had to go against the church. He must of been a very brave person at the time the Catholic church was very powerful and could of killed him. I was also surprised that they could not convert the Chinese Dynasty into Christians because they thought that trinity believes were primitive thinking. The Chinese thought that Europeans were not advanced for them this is very interesting because we always like to think that we are more advance, and when I say the we I mean the west. I also enjoyed this chapter because it showed that Christianity was also spread by sword and people were forced to convert. For example, the Native American Mexicans and other Spanish base colonies were forced to go to church and forced to abandoned their believes. What the book does not say is that they were beaten in order to go to church. The section on Islam is also very interesting because at some point both religions were spread by sword then the Islamic religion just taxed the non believers instead of converting them. I have to say that I am disappointed that I cannot go to Mexico and see Tenochtitlan now we just have a cathedral.

This chapter has to be the most horrible chapter of the text. I thought that the past chapters were horrible, but this one took the cake. I cannot imagine how other high-ranking African nobles allowed other Africans to get enslaved by Europeans. The only part of this chapter that I enjoyed was when the company of British that enslaved Africans got beaten up my the king of what is now Gambia named Sambalama beat them up and held them for ransom money. Know that is what I call a pay back, but after the money was paid all the operations went back to normal. The other thing that I found disturbing was how the nobles set rules that most of the people they were going to enslave had to be a great majority male. They wanted this because they wanted to keep all the females for them as slaves or as wives, so they could feel a higher level of nobility. I cannot imaging seeing these nobles giving the OK to enslave opposite tribes. The new world demanded a lot of slaves, but I wonder why the Europeans did not take any noble, but we have accounts of one by the name of Ayuba Suleiman Diallo. He was a noble man with slaves trying to sell them he went into the dangerous part of Africa and got enslaved. Diallo tried to contact his father for help but was unable, so he got sent to Maryland. After coming back, from the new world because he was smart and could show his owner that he was smart, he did nothing to stop Europeans from enslaving other fellow Africans. I cannot believe that after he personally witnessed all the hard work and mistreatment of the slave owners, he did nothing to stop future people from suffering. What he did, when he arrived back to his hometown, he bought two slaves and had a normal life. This is the weirdest person in the world.

When I was reading the textbook Ways of the World, by Robert W. Strayer chapter 13. I was very fascinated by the information that was giving, for instance, I didn't know that corn was an American product that was imported back to Europe. Another fascinating fact is, potatoes was also an American product that was not available in Europe. I can't imaging the Russians not drinking their vodka with no potatoes to make vodka. The things that I didn't like from the reading was how the Europeans wiped out whole civilizations with no mercy. I wonder if they knew they were wiping out whole civilizations and not being able to get their knowledge, would they have stopped? The other part that was negative was how they forced some natives to convert into their religion. The mixing of the natives in the Spanish colonies explained a lot to me, and know I wonder what percentage of Native American I have in my blood, and what percentage of European I have in my blood? I never thought that at one point Brazil was the main producer of sugar for the world, I wonder if that is true today? The other section of the reading was also very interesting the Russian Empire is still alive today and its called The Russian Federation. Furthermore, they are still a very powerful nation, and I was surprised that they had so much religion tolerance since 1689 and began to assimilate the European way of dress. The Russian Empire is a very interesting part of history because I thought that religious tolerance was an idea that was not too long ago created. The Asian Empire was also interesting because it talked about China and India. For example, China went into an eighty-year war to united the nation. In the Mughal Empire the most interesting person was, in my perspective, Akbar who really united the kingdoms and was a man who was years ahead of his time. For Example, He accommodated Hinduism in his empire because he realized that only 20% of his empire practiced Islam and the rest Hinduism. Although, He was a Muslim himself he didn't want to convert anyone. This is big at the time most people had rules like you convert or you die.
